Trust God to Impact Others Through You

Updated: Apr 15, 2022

Need a little encouragement to get you through the week? Get your daily dose of devotionals to renew your spirit and refresh your soul.

If God was given the opportunity in your life to perform a miracle on your behalf, would you trust Him enough to move forward without fear?

"Then the high officials and the satraps sought to find a ground for complaint against Daniel with regard to the kingdom, but they could find no ground for complaint or any fault, because he was faithful, and no error or fault was found in him. Then these men said, “We shall not find any ground for complaint against this Daniel unless we find it in connection with the law of his God.”

Then these high officials and satraps came by agreement[a] to the king and said to him, “O King Darius, live forever! All the high officials of the kingdom, the prefects and the satraps, the counselors and the governors are agreed that the king should establish an ordinance and enforce an injunction, that whoever makes petition to any god or man for thirty days, except to you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions." Daniel 4-7

Daniel knew about the law. He continued to pray to God three times a day as he always did. He didn't hide it, and he didn't allow fear to stop him from worshiping. He knew no matter what, the other government officials would find him guilty one way or another. He knew King Darius had no power to save him, only God alone could.

I can't imagine being in this situation. Knowing full well if I continued to worship God I would be thrown into a locked den full of hungry lions. How could anyone not be afraid? Daniel trusted God and knew of His strength and faithfulness. Daniel received the peace only God can bring. He continued to worship knowing nothing on this earth could save him. Only God alone had the power to deliver Daniel out of this impossible situation,

Daniel's allegiance to God through this seemingly impossible situation brought King Darius and many more to belief. What would have happened if fear overtook Daniel? His story would have ended much differently and nations would not have known the power and sovereignty of our living God.

Although we may never face a den of lions, chances are our faith and allegiance to God will be tested. Maybe it's an unbelieving friend or family member who puts us to the test. Will you remain in God's peace to testify on His behalf? What if God worked a miracle in a seemingly impossible situation in your life and your very testimony was able to bring those around you to faith? God still uses ordinary people in extraordinary situations to bring people to faith in Him. If that ordinary person is you and you find yourself facing your own "den of lions," remember Daniel. Remember how powerful the strength and peace of God can be.

I encourage you today, read the rest of Daniel's story. I have included the link to the rest of Daniel's story in Daniel chapter 6 from BibleGateway.com.
