Wednesday's In The Word
Need a little encouragement in the middle of your week? Start your Wednesday's off right. Renew your spirit and refresh your soul.

False prophets were common in the Old Testament, in Jesus's time, and they are still common today. What does a false prophet look like? Well, we know them by their fruit or the way they act and live their lives. Do their words glorify themselves or money or fame? Or do their words teach of the truth's from the Bible. Do their actions reflect Jesus and the way He would handle situations and treat people? Or are they selfishly motivated or just telling society what they want to hear?
Recognizing the fruit in others, especially religious leaders and teachers, is so important. Just because someone claims they are religious doesn't mean they know Jesus or His truths. Guard your heart so you will not be misled by someone who claims to be a follower of Jesus, yet lives a life that is opposite of what Jesus would stand for.
Jesus gives us a great image of good fruit verses bad fruit. He also gives a dangerous warning to those who are teaching false doctrine. They will be cut off from Him and their eternal destination is the fire's of hell. And this is why it is so important to pick up your Bible and read for yourself. So you can discern what is holy and pure verses what Jesus would not stand for.
