The Completeness Connection

"Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing." John 15:4-5

Perhaps the most vital missed connection is someone who is there, no matter the physical distance.

Jesus.

Whether you are a church goer or not, if I told you that having a relationship with Jesus is the real connection you are missing, would you believe me? Maybe the lack of connection can not be fulfilled by a person or a thing?

In John 15:4, Jesus explains how we are connected to Him. We are the branch, He is the vine. He doesn't say only believers are a branch. We are all intertwined with Him. What He does tell us is that only if we remain in Him, that we will bear fruit. So what does that mean?

When we remain in Christ, we believe in Him and we receive Him in our hearts. When we stay close to Jesus, we live a great life. We "bear fruit" or produce positive inside ourselves which overflows into our lives. The true connection we form with Him is the catalyst for that greatness. Sure, we can do good things in our lives whether we are believers or not. But what if good could be great or even better than that?

Would you want to settle for good if a simple heart change could produce a greatness we simply cannot achieve all on our own? Have you tried to prove and produce and be and achieve everything that you thought would make you happy, to only get to your goal and still feel disappointment?

I wish this greatness was something I could easily explain to you. The feeling of true connection with Jesus isn't something that can be put into words. The deeply rooted feeling of completeness can only be known when it is felt. Anything less than Jesus will keep us searching for more and more again.

This completeness can not be felt when we are apart from Jesus. Just because you feel disconnected, doesn't mean you are not connected to Him.

So my question for you is, have you felt that feeling? Do you know the feeling of completeness because of the relationship you have formed with Jesus?
