God Can Work Miracles Even If They Seem Minimal

Updated: Apr 15, 2022

Need a little encouragement to get you through the week? Get your daily dose of devotionals to renew your spirit and refresh your soul.

Does your miracle seem too minimal to ask for? If you can live with it, does it pay to ask? Maybe migraines plague the majority of your days or diabetes is part of your daily life. Whether you are praying to get rid of headaches or your mini miracle is to heal a withered hand, it's never too minuscule to ask for. If Jesus is willing to move mountains, He can handle some hills too.

Or possibly timing never seems to be quite right to ask? Maybe you don't even need to ask, because Jesus already knows what is on your mind. The man with the withered hand didn't have to. He was simply there in the presence of Jesus. "Again he entered the synagogue, and a man was there with a withered hand. And they watched Jesus, to see whether he would heal him on the Sabbath, so that they might accuse him." Mark 3:1-2. Even the Pharisees who didn't acknowledge who Jesus was knew the power He held. They watched carefully to see if He would heal the man. They knew He could, because they watched to see if He "would".

What does it look like when you are in the presence of Jesus? Even if we know He is always present, we often don't just simply remain in His presence. We need help when we need help. We can't help the timing and we can't always control the problem. We are called to help if help is needed and to ask if help is needed. If help is needed on the Sabbath, the day after might just be too late. God would rather you come to Him no matter if it's midnight on a Tuesday or in church on Sunday. Either way, being in His presence is His only condition.
